Our rental and exchange system can keep your downtime to a minimum.
The main spindle or machining head on your Unisign machine can fail for any number of reasons, including programming errors and wear and tear. You’ll want to repair the resulting mechanical damage as quickly as possible. Our Services department can help with this. Our machining head rental service and main spindle exchange system keep your manufacturing downtime to a minimum.
Rental service for machining heads
You can rely on us whenever one of the heads in your Unisign machine develops a problem during the machining process. A range of machining heads, including perpendicular heads, turning heads and universal heads, are available as standard. These can be rented from us at a fixed price for an agreed period of time.
We will send a Unisign expert to remove the faulty machining head and install the rented head. So you get back up and running as soon as possible. We will then repair the defective machining head in our workshop. Once the repair is completed, we will re-install it and take back the rented machining head.

Exchange system for main spindles
We also offer a quick solution if the main spindle in your Unisign machine suffers damage. During repair, a machine with a defective main spindle will typically be sitting idle. We offer an exchange system for main spindles that keeps any downtime to a minimum.
We will remove the defective spindle, directly replacing it with a fully overhauled main spindle in your machine. The specifications of this overhauled spindle are exactly the same as a new spindle. Our exchange system allows you to get back to manufacturing as quickly as possible. We will repair your old main spindle and then add it to our exchange pool.
Purchasing a spare machining head
From time to time, all our machining heads might all be rented out. This is because many Unisign machines use the same machining heads. If a specific machining head is absolutely critical to your process, consider erring on the side of caution and purchase your own spare machining head to keep your manufacturing process running.
What to do if a head or spindle fails
If your machine is out of action due to a failed machining head and/or main spindle, we will help you get your manufacturing back on track in 3 steps:
- Assess the damage, take pictures and use this form to share the information with us.
- We will analyse the damage and prepare a quotation to install a rented head or exchange spindle.
- After we receive your approval, we will schedule a specialist to install the rented head or exchange spindle.
Highly trained operators
Damage to a machining head or main spindle is often the result of human error. That is why we believe it is important to share our knowledge and insights with our clients. We offer a range of training programmes that teach operators how to correctly operate, programme and maintain Unisign machines.
